Edward Villella, Artistic Director

Dorothy Chandler Pavilion
MIAMI CITY BALLET performs the West Coast premiere of NIGHTSPOT, a Twyla Tharp and Elvis Costello collaboration.
Known for her innovation and creativity, Twyla Tharp has created some of the most memorable dances in modern repertory, while Elvis Costello's adventurous musical talents make him one of the most sought-after artists of our time. Together they create a seductive, flirtatious, and dramatic work that showcases the skill and confidence of Miami City Ballet's dancers.
Also on the program are Liturgy, a work by today's most in-demand ballet choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, and Tarantella and Symphony in Three Movements, both masterpieces by the great George Balanchine.
"Like Elvis Costello's richly atmospheric score, NIGHTSPOT swells with emotion, taking audience and dancers along for a heart-stopping ride." - Miami Herald
