| Denise Iketani - Theatre and Storytelling Workshop
Workshop:
Denise Iketani's student workshops focus on theater games and basic storytelling techniques. She will demonstrate simple theater and storytelling techniques to increase story comprehension, sequencing and vocabulary skills. Exercises will be used to enhance understanding of theater concepts and additionally may be applied to language arts, social studies, math, history and science. Exercises will be varied to include learners of all levels.
Denise Iketani has been a performing and workshop artist with the Music Center for over fifteen years. She is a longtime member of the multiethnic storytelling troupe We Tell Stories and performed for eleven years with Alice Lo and the Eloquence of Chinese Dance. She has appeared on many stages in Los Angeles including East West Players, the Alex, and LATC. she received a Theatre Los Angeles Ovation nomination for her performance as Tamate in East West Player's revival of Pacific Overtures. Denise has woven tales for Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Los Angeles Opera and for several seasons with the Dacamera Society's Children's Concerts in Historic Sites. She currently performs with Cold Tofu Improv, the country's premiere Asian American Improv company.
Price:
$100 per 60-minute workshop, plus possible planning fee. Minimum three workshops per day must be scheduled.

Capacity: 1 Classroom (maximum of 35 students, plus regular teacher)
Availability: Year Round
Teacher In-Service Price: $300/hour (2-hour minimum required).
